Frequently Asked Questions

What is World Possible?

World Possible is a nonprofit organization that supports the development of RACHEL Offline technologies, as well as a global network of social entrepreneurs, to deploy RACHEL in offline communities worldwide. We work at the intersection of community, technology, and education to ensure that children living without an internet connection still have access to a high-quality, digital education. We train teachers and educators to effectively use our innovative technology solutions and also contribute to RACHEL’s development through content creation and distribution.

What is RACHEL Offline?

RACHEL stands for Remote Area Community Hotspot for Education and Learning. RACHEL Offline delivers digital educational content to communities and individuals that lack internet connectivity anywhere in the world. Like a copy machine for books, RACHEL Offline content is a copy machine for websites. By making copies of websites available for a person to download free of charge, RACHEL offline enables a wide variety of educational content to be physically delivered in digital form to communities that do not have access to the internet.

RACHEL content will always and forever be free. Content updates will also always and forever be free. To the best of our ability, instructions and support will always be free, allowing anyone to replicate and build the products we sell here for their own use.

What is World Possible's vision?

The world today has more access to educational resources than ever before. Despite this, the world's most challenged communities still face enormous difficulty in making use of these tools.

Technological solutions are plentiful, but are only half the picture: tools are only useful in the hands of those who know how to use them. Fundamentally the solution must be human.

Through our social entrepreneur program, World Possible provides direct, ongoing support to exceptional individuals in challenged communities. We connect with people who want to build and maintain learning centers for themselves and their neighbors. We give them the tools, but perhaps more importantly, the funding and guidance to make this happen.

In return, they give us ongoing feedback on the impact of our tools and programs. This is probably the most often overlooked, yet most important part of the process.
